This summer, Trinity Baptist Church hosted an average of 45 children for a week of Vacation Bible School. Utilizing the Emeral Crossing curriculum from Answers in Genesis, the kids explored the powerful message of Psalm 23. Throughout the week, they learned how to move from worry to peace, from fear to faith, and from uncertainty to a strong foundation in God’s Word by building a relationship with the Good Shepherd. The children also enjoyed plenty of hands-on activities, including games, crafts, and music.
Every evening began with the pledge, followed by a short video that introduced the night’s theme. Afterward, the children broke into smaller groups and rotated through various activity stations, including games, crafts, a puppet show, and Bible lessons. We also shared a meal together each night, providing a perfect opportunity for everyone to unwind, laugh, and connect with one another.
To God be the Glory, this year, there were 5 children who spoke to our counselors to make a profession of faith! We are asking out church family to keep praying for these children and as they take their next steps into growing in the Word and sharing the Gospel to their friends and family as a new Christ follower.
This year, we collected an offering for the Hope for Brazil Ministries throughout VBS. 100% of the offerings that were received went go to funding missionaries including travel and mission supplies. Praise the Lord that over $2,000 was received throughout VBS! There is still an opportunity to support this Ministry even though VBS has concluded. If you feel led to support this ministry, you can use this secure link to make a donation. Use the drop-down menu to select either Mission Trip or Water Filtration. Alternatively, you can put your gift into an offering envelope at the church and be sure to mark it as Mission Trip or Water Filtration.
- Day 1 the children learned like David, I can be a child of God and have the Lord as my shepherd. Go from lost to found.
( 1 Samuel 17:34-37) - Day 2 the children learned like David, I need the Lord to lead me on the right path through his Word. Go from the wrong Path to Right Path. (1 Samuel 17)
- Day 3 the children learned like David, I can turn to the Lord for comfort when I am anxious or afraid. Go from fearful to peaceful. (1 Samuel 19–1 Samuel 23)
- Day 4 the children learned like David, I can have an attitude of gratitude in every situation. Go from grumbling to grateful. (2 Samuel 5:1-5)
- Day 5 the children learned like David, I need to look for God’s goodness and mercy, my traveling companions through life. Go from shaky to sure. (1 Chronicles 22, 2 Samuel 7)
We’re so grateful for every volunteer who helped bring this week to life and for every family who made space for their kids to be part of it. Most of all, we’re thankful for the way God moved in the hearts of these children.
