Pastor Kevin Long reminded the church that God is the Author of life and His Word is meant to be read, heard, and followed. In a world full of confusion and competing messages, he pointed us back to Scripture as truth and called believers to speak from love while standing firm. Using Psalm 139:13-16, Pastor Kevin showed that God knows us before birth, values every human life at every stage, and loves us so deeply that He sent Jesus to save us.
We are Known
Your life is not accidental or random. God forms each person with purpose. He “knits” us together in the womb and knows us completely. God loved us then and He loves us now. (v. 13)
We have Value
Because God created us, human life carries a unique worth that cannot be measured by ability, age, health, or productivity. We have been fearfully and wonderfully made and created in the image of God. Because we are made in God’s image, that sets us apart from everything else in creation. This is why Christians are called to protect life and speak up when innocent life is threatened. (v. 14)
We are Loved
The sanctity of life is rooted in the heart of God, and God’s heart is love.
God loves life, and God loves people. John 3:16 shows that God’s love moved Him to give His Son so we could have eternal life. While Satan brings lies, fear, and destruction, Jesus is “the way, the truth, and the life.” No matter your past, God’s love is not out of reach. (v. 16)
