Pastor Kevin asked a simple question, What is your age, to make a bigger point about the age and health of a church. Healthy churches do not just count people, they make disciples and reach the lost. From Romans chapter 10 and real life ministry examples, we learned the four ways churches grow, why conversion growth must lead the way, and how every believer can join the mission. The path is simple. Someone is sent, someone speaks, people hear, people believe, and believers call on the Lord. God uses a willing church that invites, shares, serves, and sends.
The 4 ways a church grows
-
-
- Conversion growth
- People hear the gospel, repent, believe, and are baptized into the church family.
- This is the growth we pray for first because it grows the kingdom, not just a headcount.
- Conversion growth

-
-
- Biblical growth
-
Families raise children in the Lord through birth, adoption, or fostering.
-
The next generation learns worship, service, and mission through the everyday life of the church.

- Demographic growth
- New residents move into the community and look for a church home.
- Hospitality matters. A kind invitation, a warm welcome, and a simple next step help people plant roots.
- Demographic growth
-
-
-
- Transfer growth
- Believers move from one church to another.
- This happens, but it is the least desirable way to grow since it does not expand the kingdom.

Why conversion growth must lead
-
-
-
Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. (Romans 10:13)
-
We long to see people pass from death to life. When the kingdom grows, the church grows with it.
-
-
Missions is often across the street
-
-
-
You are a missionary where you live, work, and learn.
-
Four out of five people are open to a church invite. Start with neighbors, coworkers, classmates, and new families that move in. A simple, Come sit with me, opens doors.

How salvation moves from person to person
-
-
- Romans 10:14-17 gives a clear chain.
- Sent. The Holy Spirit and the local church send people.
- Speak. Someone shares the good news of Jesus.
- Hear. People hear the word of Christ.
- Believe. Hearers trust Christ.
- Call. Believers call on the Lord and are saved. (v.17)
