This past Sunday, we had the joy of celebrating the closing of our Vacation Bible School, Wonder Junction. It was a week filled with laughter, learning, and powerful truths as our children explored the incredible story of Jesus. Psalm 113:3 reminds us, “From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised,” and that’s exactly what we did together.
In Sunday’s message, we revisited the five “wonders” the kids learned throughout the week. These are not just moments in Jesus’ life, but key truths that shape our understanding of who He is and how we are called to live.
The Five Wonders of Jesus

1. The Wonder of His Birth
-
Scripture: Matthew 1:18–23
-
Jesus was born of a virgin through the Holy Spirit.
-
He is Emmanuel—God with us.
-
Jesus came without a sin nature to be the perfect sacrifice for our sins.

2. The Wonder of His Childhood
-
Scripture: Luke 2:41–52
-
Even as a child, Jesus was focused on His Father’s work.
-
He grew in wisdom, stature, and favor.

3. The Wonder of His Ministry
-
Scripture: Throughout the Gospels
-
Jesus healed, taught with authority, calmed storms, raised the dead.
-
His miracles proved His divinity and compassion.
-
He is the Almighty and our example in ministry and love.

4. The Wonder of His Death and Resurrection
-
Scripture: John 20:31, Romans 5:8
-
Jesus died on the cross to pay for our sins.
-
He rose from the grave, conquering death and offering eternal life.
-
Only Jesus can save. He is the risen Savior.

5. The Wonder of His Return
-
Scripture: Matthew 25:14–30, Acts 1:11, Revelation 22:12
-
Jesus is coming again to reign as King.
-
Like the servants in the parable of the talents, we are entrusted with His gospel.
-
We are called to be faithful until He returns.
